At the General Assembly held on 18 October in Bratislava, PostEurop proudly announced the winners of the “2023 CSR Coups de Coeur” awards during the Association’s 30th Anniversary celebration.

These trophies recognize each year the best practices of postal operators in the CSR categories “Employees”, “Economy” and “Environment”. The 3 winners were selected among 53 practices by a jury of CSR experts from postal companies, PostEurop, IPC and UPU.

In the Employees category, Swiss Post was awarded for its “StayFit” initiative, an online platform enabling staff to receive anonymous support issues free-of-charge. This support can be related to professional or personal problems, enabling to prevent them from escalating further as well as facilitates access to relevant information and tools. The jury appreciated the fact that this service shows the company’s genuine and tangible interest for its staff’s well-being through an accessible, comprehensive and proactive support. The fact that it is an online platform reaching all staff and the anonymity were seeing as two strengths. Members of the jury also applauded the fact that by addressing a wide range of concerns and offering various resources, StayFit contributes to the well-being and resilience of employees, ultimately fostering a healthier and more satisfied workforce.

La Poste Groupe was awarded the “Coup de Coeur” in the Economy category for its partnership with the citizen’s rescue scheme “Le Bon Samaritain” which aims to reduce intervention delays in case of nearby cardiac arrest. Thanks to geolocation technology provided by a dedicated online application, citizens can help the victims while waiting for the emergency services. The jury saw a high potential in this very concrete pilot which will be rolled out gradually throughout the company leveraging the large postal workforce and its proximity all over the territory who can directly contribute when faced with this serious health issue. The jury considered this partnership as an innovative way to engage postal employees in helping to preserve citizens’ health and promote community involvement.

The “Coup de Coeur” for Environment was awarded to Cyprus Post for its initiative “Tiganokinisi” which enables post offices to collect and recycle used cooking oil from households and responsibly transforming it into “fuel”. This project, submitted at the very last moment by Cyprus Post was received with enthusiasm by the jury as it was “innovative in terms of simplicity” and shows how simple everyday actions can have a positive impact on the environment. It promotes circularity, a key issue nowadays, and waste management while raising awareness among citizens and postal employees and relies on the large post offices’ network.

“The winners of the 2023 CSR Coups show the diverse, innovative, and concrete ways in which the postal industry is committed to corporate social responsibility. As PostEurop continues its journey as a leader in sustainability and positive change, we look forward to welcoming a large array of postal companies to contribute to the CSR Brochure and come to the awards stage in the years to come.” – Margaux Meidinger, Chairwoman of the CSR Activities Circle.

Congratulations to all the winners.
