For the first time in its corporate history, Österreichische Post has broken its own recently set daily record for transported parcels. A strong extended weekend for e-commerce resulted in Österreichische Post once again surpassing the daily record it had set just last week, with around 1.65 million parcels handled in a single day.
Peter Umundum, Deputy CEO and Member of the Management Board for Parcel & Logistics, Österreichische Post AG, commented: “This has never happened before: after several exceptionally strong days in a row, we have broken our own daily record within just one week, handling around 1.65 million parcels. These volumes reflect the great trust placed in us by our shipping customers and the high level of performance made possible by our dedicated employees. Christmas can come – Österreichische Post will take care of it!”
Österreichische Post expects parcel volumes to remain high through Christmas Eve. To ensure that all letters and parcels arrive on time, Österreichische Post recommends allowing for sufficient buffer time and placing orders or sending shipments as early as possible.
