Posti and Kivra have agreed on an arrangement under which Kivra’s digital post services in Finland will be transferred to Posti. Kivra has provided digital communication services in Finland for both consumers and businesses.
The corporate transaction is part of Posti’s long-term commitment to developing digital communication. The digitalization of communication is advancing rapidly, and the need for reliable, secure, and easy-to-use solutions is growing. With this acquisition, Posti strengthens its position in digital communication and can further develop its services for an even wider user base.
“Our goal is to make everyday life smoother by bringing communication together into one secure and easy-to-use service, the OmaPosti service. This acquisition strongly supports the objective: it ensures the seamless continuity of services and strengthens Posti’s ability to develop the service long-term. At the same time, it promotes the digitalization of communications in Finland and responds to consumers’ need to receive important messages in place, smoothly and effortlessly” says Kimmo Salakka, Strategy and Development Director at Postal Services.
“This arrangement supports our original objective of establishing a functional digital post service in Finland and enabling its benefits to reach society widely. We have developed Kivra’s service in Finland in a determined and successful manner, and this arrangement now allows the service to continue as part of OmaPosti, where development will continue on a strong foundation. For customers, the solution ensures continuity of services and benefits,” says Ville‑Veikko Laukkanen, Chair of the Board of Kivra Oy.
For both consumer and business customers, the service will remain unchanged for the time being. The plan is to integrate Kivra’s current service into Posti’s OmaPosti service. Customers will be informed well in advance of any possible changes.
The transaction was completed in April 2026.
