The action is part of the global World Cleanup Day. Montenegro Post joined the action at the initiative of PostEurop.
During the two hours of work and getting together, several plastic bags of solid waste (plastic bottles, cardboard, packaging, cigarette butts etc.) were collected. The action of Montenegro Post was joined by employees of National parks, representatives of NGO Association of Gorica Hill and nature admirers and supported by rangers of the Agency for the Management of Protected Areas in Podgorica, Deponija Ltd. Podgorica (Podgorica landfill) and Čistoća Ltd. Podgorica (municipal solid waste collection company) that took over the collected waste.
The forests of Gorica are known as „the lungs of the city“. This is Podgorica citizens’ favourite place for recreation, walk and enjoying the nature. Last year Gorica was declared a protected area. Gorica’s forests are dominated by the Aleppo pine and cypress, the Macedonian oak, ash and pine nuts trees.
