Organisational Announcement

The PostEurop Board of Directors (BoD) has approved the following new appointment within the Operational Activities Circle (OAC) at its 128th meeting.

Operational Activities Circle (OAC)

The aim of the Innovation Forum under the OAC is to foster discussions on the latest developments in information and communication technology, to develop and improve efficiency and to inspire Members on ways to improve Quality of Service through new value-added services and IT-integrated customised solutions.

Sophie Desier-Biehler (La Poste Groupe) and Thierry Golliard (Swiss Post) have been appointed co Vice-Chairs of the Innovation Forum to fill the vacant position. They will be assisting the Chair of the Innovation Forum, Carlos Bhatt (CTT Portugal Post).

Sophie is the Europe and PostEurop Manager of International Relations at La Poste Groupe. She is responsible for the institutional relations with all postal operators present within the European territory. In this role, Sophie coordinates more than thirty business experts from La Poste Groupe, who actively participate in different intra-country workshops and on PostEurop Working Groups, Committees and Transversals activities. She works closely with key PostEurop stakeholders such as the Universal Postal Union (UPU), International Post Corporation (IPC), the European Commission and European Parliament.  Sophie has ten years of experience in Marketing and Innovation and she was the product owner of the service “Visit my parents” that launched in 2012. She has also worked at Reliv International, an American company in the sector of micro nutrition as Europe Master Affiliate for three years. She has completed several trainings and holds a diploma from La Sorbonne (IHEAL- Paris III) in International Relations, further to this she also has a specialisation in Due Intelligence (Orsint).

Thierry is the Director of Open Innovation & Corporate Venturing at Swiss Post since 2017. In this position, Thierry manages a team of ten people to ensure that activities such as partnerships with start-ups (including the Group’s venture capital fund), corporate foresight, strategic partnerships with universities and the outpost in US and China, continue to contribute to Swiss Post’s growth. He has more than fifteen years of international work experience in logistics, supply chain and mobility; as well as more than ten years of experience in the start-up environment as coach, mentor, investor, project partner and board member. He is also a member of various advisory boards at EPFL and in the University Fribourg.
