Romanian Post strategically supports bpost's humanitarian actions for the benefit of citizens in Ukraine

Romanian Post successfully completed yesterday at the Halmeu Border Crossing Point - Satu Mare County - the logistical support provided to the Belgian postal operator, bpost, for the transfer of over 60 tons of non-perishable food and hygiene products, donations collected in the Belgian postal network for the relief of citizens in Ukraine.

More than 60 tons of humanitarian aid collected by the national postal operator of Belgium, bpost, consisting of non-perishable food and hygiene products, were handed over yesterday evening at the Halmeu Border Crossing Point to Ukrainian postmen from Ukrposhta, with Romanian Post providing logistical support for the transhipment of the consignments and ensuring customs procedures for the transfer.

The Belgian postal operator chose the partnership with Romanian Post following the success of the humanitarian campaign "Solidarity with Ukraine", which is ongoing in the Romanian postal network. The organisational infrastructure and working model applied by Romanian Post in its own humanitarian actions for the benefit of the citizens of Ukraine were solid arguments to follow for the successful transfer of the donations collected in Belgium to the war affected areas.

"The fact that Belgian postmen and postwomen called upon the support of Romanian Post for the transfer of products collected in their network is a clear proof that the humanitarian actions undertaken by Romanian Post in the first days after the beginning of the war in support of Ukrainian citizens provided the European postal community with an example of good practice, which could be successfully replicated in other postal networks. Whatever the hardships, the postmen remain united around the same strong values, which is why they made possible the successful transfer to Ukraine of dozens of tons of food and clothing, essential for life in this unbearable context of war", said Valentin Ștefan, CEO of Romanian Post.
