The trucks are from the Daimler brand Fuso eCanter, and are delivered by Bertel O. Steen AS. The trucks are the first of their kind in Norway. This will also be the largest electric vehicles to date in Posten Norge's extensive fleet of electric vehicles. Both vehicles will replace a diesel vehicles.
The Bring car will be used by Bring Home Delivery, which delivers heavier goods to homes of private individuals. With a payload of 2.7 tonnes, the car will largely be used for the delivery of kitchens and furniture. It will be in operation until 22.00 every weekday.
The Posten car will transport parcels and letter mail to and from Post i Butikk and post offices in central Oslo, and also to companies and enterprises such as Rikshospitalet. It is scheduled to be in operation from 4.30 to 18.30 every weekday.
Norway Post and Bring aim to use only renewable energy sources in vehicles and buildings by 2025. We are constantly looking for new solutions to reduce our emissions. One of the measures is to use environmentally efficient vehicles, something the new electric trucks are a very good example of, says regional director Hans-Øyvind Ryen in Norway Post.
