Covid update: Česká pošta issued stamps with masks decorated by simplified symbols of those who were in the front line

The newly released stamp thanks all those who were in the front line

The motif of the new stamp identified with a letter, which will be available for sale at Czech Post on Wednesday, 24th June, depicts face masks adorned with simplified symbols of healthcare professionals, postal workers, armed forces, police officers, fire brigade and all those who helped each other and stood together in difficult times of the coronavirus crisis. The artistic design of the stamp was created by Mr. Filip Heyduk.

In the Czech Republic, the first case of coronavirus appeared in early March. Subsequently, the government ordered multiple measures to prevent the uncontrolled spread of the new type of coronavirus. One of these regulations introduced the obligation to wear face masks in public. Since then, face masks have not only become a symbol of these days, but also a phenomenon that illustrates the current situation better than anything else.

The face value of the stamp is identified with a letter B, which corresponds with the domestic Ordinary Letter - Standard up to 50 g in the economic mode of delivery according to Czech Post‘s price list - CZK 19 (on the date of issue).

The stamp was printed with an offset method of 750 000 copies.
