Pošta Slovenije, An Post and Posti Awarded the PostEurop CSR "Coups de Coeur"

PostEurop proudly announced the recipients of the 2019 CSR Coups de Coeur” awards during a ceremony held during the Plenary Assembly on 10 October in Jersey.

These trophies recognize each year the best practices of postal operators in the categories “Employees”, “Society” and “Environment”.

In the Employees category, Pošta Slovenije received the “Coup de Coeur” award for its “Healthily and Actively into the future” programme, which aims to improve the management and the detection of psychological risk factors among its employees. As Mr. Marjan Osvald, Director of International Mail at Slovenian Post emphasised “Pošta Slovenije’s ‘Comprehensive Psychosocial Support to Employees - Healthily and Actively into the Future!’ project aims to motivate its employees to address mental health issues adequately and on-time. It improves personal relationships at workplace.” This innovative project aims to improve well-being both at work and home and to create a safe place to treat mental health issues.

An Post was awarded the "Coup de Coeur” for Society in recognition of its programme “Address Point” which gives a fixed postal address to people without a fixed home. By offering them an easier way to receive and send letters, this initiative helps to simplify their lives and brings attention to the homeless conditions and lack of access to basic services. Debbie Byrne, Managing Director of An Post Retail underlined that “In just six months after the launch, almost 20% of people who are homeless or living in temporary accommodation are using the Address Point service. The support of An Post staff was invaluable in bringing Address Point from a good idea to an easily accessible service based around a choice of almost 200 local post offices country-wide.”

The “Coup de Coeur” for Environment was awarded to Posti for its initiative “Climate Training Week”. By organising a dedicated week to learn and practice climate-friendly actions, Posti offered 2,000 of its employees to learn how they can incorporate these actions into their everyday behaviour Mrs. Noomi Jägerhorn, Head of Sustainability at Post, explained that “Posti organised a climate training week for its employees during which inspiring advice on climate-friendly everyday activities for mobility, food, living and consumption was distributed. The purpose of the week was to highlight that our everyday actions can play a significant role in the fight against global warming.”

These Coups de Coeur are aimed to promote CSR innovative good practices and were selected by a final jury composed of several experts with experience in CSR. In view of the high quality and the increasing number of practices received this year, we thank all the postal operators for their commitment in this event.

Congratulations to all the winners!
