The prestigious event which takes place in London was attended by over 1,400 key industry personnel. Having been shortlisted with four other companies Guernsey Post came out on top against some very strong competition including the global distribution and delivery giant UPS.

The judges at the UK Motor Transport Awards noted Guernsey Post's seamless transition to an all-electric home delivery fleet, the use of technology to reduce mileage and the innovative collaboration with Guernsey Electricity to install the largest solar array in the Channel Islands on the roof of Postal Headquarters. The judges commented "Guernsey Post's transformative project is an extremely bold and innovative solution to reduce emissions. It has been a superbly executed project that took staff and customers with it on its journey"
Simon Milsted Chairman of Guernsey Post said, "It is really pleasing that we at Guernsey Post can deliver business change embracing low carbon emissions to a level that is recognised as an exemplar by the UK motor transport industry."

Mr Milsted continued, "Our success is due in no small measure to the total engagement of our team at all levels who understand and embrace the need to look at and improve our business. I congratulate and thank them all."

Guernsey Electricity, who joined Guernsey Post in collecting the award, have also played a pivotal role building on the success of their own commercial scale solar array installation.
