On 16 April 2019, Mr. Novak, Pošta Slovenije’s general manager, solemnly handed over for use some business premises, available in one of its Ljubljana office buildings, to four high-tech start-up companies who have thus become the beneficiaries of a symbolic rent. Post of Slovenia thereby consolidates its efforts and achievements regarding R & D integration, recognizing the importance of open innovation. Post of Slovenia officially became a research organization by establishing its own research group registered with the Slovenian Research Agency.
Post of Slovenia continues its digital transformation, upgrades and develops new services and follows global trends, therefore it also includes artificial intelligence in logistics processes. The Pošta Slovenije’s research group consists of four researchers, three of whom are partly employees at the Jožef Stefan Institute and partly at the Post of Slovenia. With two active research and development projects in the framework of Horizon 2020, financed by the European Commission, Pošta Slovenije is successfully channelling its R & D path. Both projects include artificial intelligence, one in the field of e-learning and the other in logistics.
