They also had apples which were delivered to kindergartens and schools across Slovenia through the Pošta Slovenije’s logistics network.
The Traditional Slovenian Breakfast project has been carried out for 8 years in row. Every 3rd Friday in November children in primary schools and kindergartens are served breakfast made of local food.
The project aims to raise the awareness among kids of the importance of the locally grown food and eating breakfast as a part of a healthy lifestyle. Many accompanying activities are organized such as visits to farms, bee-keepers, etc.
On this day, the Traditional Breakfast project also took place in many other countries, in Europe and beyond.
