Le Groupe La Poste - Results for the first half of 2017

Growth in operating profit after deduction of extraordinary items recorded in the first half of 2016. La Poste's Board of Directors, chaired today by Philippe Wahl, has approved the Group's consolidated financial statements for the first half of 2017.

As of June 30, 2017, Le Groupe La Poste recorded a consolidated turnover of € 11,905 million, with a slight growth (+1.1%), a strong performance in the Express, Digital and New Mail & Parcels Services activities, a maintenance of revenues of the Mail business overall at the same level as of June 30, 2016, and a decrease in La Banque Postale's net banking income in a context of persistent low rates. The operating profit, excluding the exceptional items posted in the first half of 2016, increased by 11.1% thanks to the Group's development and to the cost control programmes carried out by all departments.

Engaged in a process of in-depth transformation, Le Groupe La Poste has carried out at once, during the first half of the year, many projects in line with its strategic priorities, including silver economy, international development, new technologies and innovation and urban logistics:

  • In terms of silver economy, the Group has broadened its range of close-to-the-customer services, which are beneficial to the community with the deployment of the "Watch over my parents" offer, thus tackling the issues of an ageing population. It has also established a presence in the home healthcare services market by taking a majority stake in Asten Santé.
