Poczta Polska: Customers to collect parcels in RUCH kiosks and stores

Poczta Polska and RUCH concluded an agreement for collection of Poczta Polska parcels in the country-wide kiosk chain RUCH.

As a result, Poczta Polska customers will be able to use nearly 7 thousand parcel collection points. This is the biggest click & collect chain in Poland.

Aside from the “door-to-door” courier service, in 4, 100 post units Poczta Polska offers the “click and collect” service for package or courier parcels. Last year also 1, 000 Orlen petrol stations joined the chain and now deliver Poczta Polska parcels. The current agreement with RUCH chain regarding parcel delivery to nearly 1, 700 kiosks and stores significantly increases the potential of using the national operator’s post services.

From November this year, online stores, e-commerce platforms and corporate clients will be able to send parcels through Poczta Polska with the option of collection in RUCH kiosks and stores. Nearly 1, 700 new outlets of Poczta Polska chain will make it easier for e-buyers to conveniently collect the products purchased online. Over 95% of RUCH outlets are open on Saturdays and nearly 19% also on Sundays. The parcels in RUCH kiosk and stores will wait to be collected for up to 7 days and the customers will be notified on a parcel waiting to be collected in a text message. The scope of services covered by the agreement with RUCH includes the most popular parcel services of Poczta Polska: Paczka24 and Paczka48, Pocztex Kurier48 and Pocztex Ekspres24.

‘The customers would like to have as many convenient places of collecting e-purchases as possible. Therefore, our main objective in the e-commerce sector is to provide even more points of parcel collection. We systematically extend our chain with collection points of our business partners. As soon as in 2017, we would like to have 10 thousand such points. The current agreement with RUCH will also have business consequences, as we assume an increase in the number of parcels managed by Poczta Polska thanks to the competitive offer for e-stores, which strive for the most convenient form of delivery for their customers,’ says Grzegorz Kurdziel, a member of the Board in Poczta Polska.

The location of the points, available in the whole country, both in the cities and rural areas, where other operators do not offer their services constitute a significant market advantage of the chain consisting of Poczta Polska units, Orlen petrol stations and RUCH kiosks and stores are. ‘We follow the global trends and can see that all e-commerce-oriented operators develop similar services – they establish their own units, partner units as well as self-service devices,’ says Grzegorz Kurdziel from Poczta Polska.

‘The agreement with Poczta Polska fits in with the development strategy of RUCH S.A., which becomes a modern service company. While providing post and courier services, we use the potential of extended network of own collection points located in the whole country. In the implementation of the service for Poczta Polska customers, RUCH S.A. used the experience and operational competence developed during the process of implementing its own services,’ adds Dariusz Stolarczyk, the Vice-president of the Board in RUCH.

  • How does the “click and collect” service work?

The service consists in the possibility of collecting an online order in the selected collection point, at a convenient time and place, without the need of waiting for the courier. 90% of parcels reach the collection point the following working day after their sending and the maximum waiting time for a parcel is two working days.
Each parcel is insured for up to PLN 1, 000. The customer is notified about the parcels progress several times, e.g. in text messages – at the moment of its sending by the online store, the parcel reaching the collection point and after 3 days of its reaching the point. The customer can also track the parcel status online on websites. The parcel is stored for 7 days.

  • At a convenient time and place

For the last 6 months 75% of online buyers have used the services of collecting the parcel in a collection point. Courier company users assess “click and collect” as a reliable and unique service (compared to courier company services). Courier company users also appreciate this service above all for the possibility of collecting the package at any place and time (which is not offered in classic courier services), but also due to the fact that 80% of parcels are delivered the following day.
