The agreement is fully in line with Pagero’s ongoing expansion on a Pan-European level.
Omniva is one of the largest e-invoice operators in the Baltics and holds a leading position in B2B e-invoicing, with different value added solutions in the workflow. Part of the agreement regulates traditional interoperability, which means that suppliers and buyers on both ends can connect instantly.
The Baltic market processes around 240 million invoices per year and the use of e-invoices is still in an early stage. Estonia is the smallest country geographically, but takes the lead when it comes to e-invoicing initiatives. E-invoicing is common practice for B2C, but only 10% of the B2B invoices are electronic. The Estonian public sector will introduce mandatory e-invoicing from January 1st 2017. In Latvia and Lithuania, the handling of paper invoices is predominating.
“Digitization demands global as well as regional reach together with local business knowledge. With the profound knowledge and competitiveness in the Baltic market held by Omniva, we will secure the needs of our customers. Currently we are seeing a strong demand for our services in this region”, says Toni Pihamaa, Managing Director Pagero Finland Oy.
“To Omniva, as an e-invoicing operator, a cooperation with Pagero is strategically an important step and a really good value to our Baltic customers. From now on we can offer our customers a significant international reach, built up by Pagero”, says Sander Aasna, Head of Division, Omniva.
