The number increased not only in items sent via terminals LP EXPRESS by business customers but also by private clients.
“Annually rapidly growing e-commerce market expands the volume of items sent via the self-service terminals LP EXPRESS. On the basis of statistics, almost one third of Lithuanian residents were shopping online last year. Today, the item acquired online and its delivery is considered to be as one service, therefore, people want that collecting the item would be as easy and convenient as its acquisition.
Terminals LP EXPRESS are chosen by customers who are unwilling to adapt themselves to working hours of post offices and couriers. An opportunity to dispatch or collect the item at the most convenient time for the customer is one of the ways to meet changed modern-day customer needs and expectations,” Juozas Buitkus, director of the company Baltic Post that runs the self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS, said.
Over the last year, two thirds of all the items sent via terminals LP EXPRESS belonged to business clients, for the most part – online stores. The number of items sent via terminals LP EXPRESS by business clients increased almost twice – by 46 per cent. However in 2015 the activity of private clients expanded the most. Last year, residents sent almost 80 per cent more items via terminals LP EXPRESS than in 2014.
Business customers commonly chose from hands to terminal shipment way, whereas, residents preferred from terminal to terminal mode. The latter shipment way, when the item is sent from one terminal LP EXPRESS to another, has become more popular by more than 83 per cent.
At present, there are 80 active self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS in 41 cities and towns in Lithuania. Last year, 9 new self-service terminals were launched in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Marijampolė, Mažeikiai and Alytus. Considering customer needs, in a part of terminals LP EXPRESS more lockers were installed.
It is possible to send items via self-service terminals LP EXPRESS not only within Lithuania but also to 22 European countries.
