Business Customers will Use Postal Services in a More Flexible and Cheaper Way

Lithuania Post provides a new electronic service – e-self-service for business companies and other organizations, institutions.

From now on, Lithuania Post business customers will be able to take care of letter-post items and parcel sending by themselves, i.e. using electronic tools.

“Companies and other organizations, institutions actively send letters, documents or other written information and parcels via Lithuania Post. Considering business customer needs, we have created a modern and contemporary electronic self-service system using which will be possible to prepare postal items for sending just sitting at the office.

The operating principle of e-self-service is simple: the business customer has to enter the necessary data online and affix a special printed sticker on the outgoing postal item. Such a postal item only needs to be handed to the postal worker serving the company or organization, or presented to a post office to be sent. It is a more flexible, convenient and faster way to use postal services,” Head of Business Development Department in Lithuania Post Mikas Jovaišas, said.

He emphasized that this electronic service allows customers not only to prepare items for sending but also to track status of all the sent registered items and order additional postal services while connected to the e-self-service account. The e-self-service system will automatically verify entered addresses, will assign postal codes for items being sent in Lithuania, whereas for items being sent abroad the system will assign the necessary customs documents and will indicate the right way to fill them in. Moreover, special discounts will be provided for business customers who would submit registered items via e-self-service system.

Over 5 thousand business customers have already tried sending postal items prepared by themselves. “We have started to prepare in advance, in order to ensure a smooth e-self-service functioning. We have been asking our customers' opinions and we keep improving this electronic service in order to meet customer needs. In the course of a few months, over 20 thousand self-prepared postal items have already been sent. We are glad that the customers who had experienced e-self-service were satisfied with it and are planning to continue sending items by themselves,” Mr Jovaišas said.

The use of e-self service will be accessible to all the business companies or other organizations, institutions signing the collaboration agreement with Lithuania Post.
