Omniva network expands thanks to the popularity of the parcel machines

This week marks the beginning of the expansion of the Estonian network of Omniva parcel machines that results in opening the parcel machines in seven settlements outside of Tallinn, which previously did not have any parcel machines.

Three new locations will be added in Tallinn.

During July, the parcel machines will be installed in Kuusalu, Kehra, Raasiku, Väike-Maarja, Pärnu-Jaagupi, Karksi-Nuia, and Orissaare.

“Continuously growing volumes of e-commerce are no longer just the preserve of urban people and therefore, we are moving towards the direction to provide more convenient services also in the smaller settlements. We will also continue with the improvement of the existing network,” Omniva Board Member Ansi Arumeel explained.

Arumeel added that the volumes of the parcel machines have increased an average of 30 percent over the year and the machines in small settlements are especially popular.

“In smaller areas, there are very active e-shoppers and therefore, it is necessary to enlarge the existing parcel machines in addition to new locations,” Arumeel said. For example, the parcel machine that was installed in Kohila last year has already become too small and therefore, it is replaced with a bigger one.

According to Arumeel, the principal reason for the popularity is the fact that similarly to e-shops, the parcel machines of Omniva are always open and accessible around the clock, which makes it possible to use them at any time.
