When a consignment arrives at a parcel centre, customers can choose to receive either an SMS or an e-mail advising them of the planned delivery day and parcel details. The "My consignments" service is free of charge and can be ordered via the Swiss Post portal. Swiss Post has made sending and receiving parcels considerably easier and more convenient over the past two years with services such as evening and Saturday delivery, My Post 24 terminals, parcel collection from home and now "My consignments".
In December, Swiss Post handles a particularly large number of parcels, with over a million items processed on some days. Swiss Post is introducing a service just in time for Christmas that will make receiving parcels even more transparent: the free "My consignments" service that notifies customers by SMS or e-mail when a parcel is on its way. The message informs them of the planned delivery day, the size of the consignment and whether it will fit in the storage compartment of their mailbox, the amount of cash on delivery, where applicable, and if a signature is required for receipt. After delivery, customers receive confirmation that their parcel has been delivered. If no-one is at home to take delivery, customers are informed via a collection note and can notify Swiss Post via its website or the Swiss Post App how they should handle the missed parcel.Options include extending the collection period, a second delivery or forwarding it to another address. "My consignments" can be activated at Login Swiss Post in the Swiss Post portal.
