Lithuania Post has Closed 9 Months with Profit

According to unaudited data, the state-owned public limited company Lietuvos paštas has earned LTL2.5m of net profit within 9 months of the current year.

Chief Executive Officer of Lithuania Post Lina Minderienė said:

“Within January-September of 2014, the major part of sales income was received from postal services. We are glad to have stable volumes of postal services, if compared with the same period of 2013, despite the fact that demand for traditional postal services is decreasing because of electronic channels becoming more and more popular.”

In comparison with the first three quarters of 2013, sales income has increased by 4% making in total LTL146m. Also, there was a 5.5% increase in income from postal services, 7.2% income rise from intermediation in financial services, and 6.1% increase in income from other services.

Rise in income from postal services was determined by 13.5% rise in income from delivery of registered and insured letter-post items.

The Public Limited Company Lietuvos paštas runs the widest network of postal access points in Lithuania.
