Poste Italiane, Le Groupe La Poste, Czech Post and Correos awarded the 2020 PostEurop CSR "Coups de Coeur"

PostEurop proudly announced the recipients of the “2020 CSR Coups de Coeur” awards during an online ceremony held at the Plenary Assembly on 8 October.

These trophies recognize each year the best practices of postal operators in the categories “Employees”, “Society” and “Environment”. In 2020, a new category “Covid-19” was created to emphasise the key role postal operators played during the crisis.

In the Employees category, Poste Italiane received the “Coup de Coeur” award for its “Labour inclusion of women victims of violence” programme, which contributes to the creation of professionalizing career paths aimed at the job placing of women leaving anti-violence centres. As emphasised by Massimiliano Monnanni, Sustainability Project Manager at Poste Italiane “We believe that violence against women is a serious and complex phenomenon which affects social and cultural aspects of our life as a community. In our opinion, this social plague can be addressed through the development of paths aimed at financial independence and the recovery through a peaceful dimension of life and work”.

Le Groupe La Poste was awarded the "Coup de Coeur” for Society in recognition of its programme “Guaranteeing Digital Access for All” which aims to reduce the digital gap through several concrete measures. By implementing an inclusive digital plan for 13 million of French citizens left out of the digital world, the project helps diagnose citizens with low digital independence and offers them individualised support to acquire the necessary digital skills. Pascal Caye, CSR Director at Le
Groupe La Poste underlined that “by relying on its large network of post offices and of associative partners, La Poste offers its customers a diagnosis to establish their level of comfort with digital technology. All its actions contribute to closing the digital gap within the French community.”

The “Coup de Coeur” for Environment was awarded to Czech Post for its initiative “Help2”, a nationwide collection of unused mobile phones at post offices as their contribution to the International Environment Day.
Mrs. Marta Selicharová, CSR Manager at Czech Post, explained that “the main positive aspect of the Help2 project was to help nature, because it gave people the opportunity to bring unused mobile phones to Czech Post branches, which prevented it from being disposed to unsorted waste.”

Correos “HELPING IN ANY WAY WE CAN” campaign was named the recipient of the COVID-19 category award, exceptionally created in 2020, for proving that companies can provide solutions with positive local social impact, helping vulnerable people and relieving their urgent needs. During the crisis, Correos has made its logistics and human network available to society in several areas of action. Elena Fernandez Rodriguez, International Relations and Sustainability Director, underlined that “during the current COVID-19 pandemic, Correos continued to serve society by collaborating on different initiatives from delivering food, basic consumer goods; health supplies to vulnerable groups and hospitals; as well as school supplies for students to fight against the digital divide”.
