Changes in the Green Mobility Forum

Organisational Announcement

Sustainability is an increasingly important topic for the future of the European postal industry.  The Green Mobility Forum (GMF) aims to foster discussions on sustainable postal logistics and aligns with CSR sustainability activities. Therefore, it is our pleasure to inform you of the following changes in the Green Mobility Forum, within the Operational Activities Circle (OAC), approved at the 119th PostEurop Management Board meeting.

Green Mobility Forum

PostEurop welcomes John Smith (An Post) as the new Chair of the GMF, thus replacing Sašo Turk (Pošta Slovenije d.o.o.), who stepped down from his role.

John has been managing An Post’s Sustainability Project which includes the implementation of An Post’s key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). These goals include An Post’s target of a 50% reduction in its Carbon Usage by 2025 and 100% by 2030. John supports An Post’s investment in around 1,000 electrical vehicles and the development of their Zero Emission Deliveries to all the cities in Ireland. He has successfully led the An Post team in installing 2MWₑ of Solar at An Post and the projects to ensure the efficient sourcing of the Electricity to power the new electrical fleet.

In addition, John is responsible for all maintenance services within An Post’s built environment and has led his team to receive the Overall National Award for Facilities Management in 2020. John has a deep knowledge of Sustainability and has led the Climate Action Team in An Post to achieving a 33% reduction in its Carbon Emissions and a 15% improvement in its energy efficiency.

John completed his studies in Property and Facilities Management which focused on Sustainability and Climate Action. He is a certified member of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management.

PostEurop also welcomes Branka Leskovšek (Pošta Slovenije d.o.o.) as the new Co Vice-Chair of the GMF, a position which she will be sharing with André Jaentges (Deutsche Post DHL Group).

Branka is a seasoned project manager with over 15 years of successful experience in project management, lecturing and fleet management. She is recognized for performance excellence and contributions to the success in road safety education and the logistics industry. Her strengths lie in strategic planning, employee motivation and negotiating backed by training in leadership.

Since 2016, she has worked as an Adviser for Pošta Slovenije d.o.o., and is responsible for fleet monitoring, planning, procurement, and maintenance of vehicles; as well as for having introduced e-vehicles into their fleet. Prior to that, she had several years of experience, working on mobility-related topics for the Slovenian government, and the automobile industry.

Branka holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineer of Transport Technology from the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport, in Portorož, Slovenia; and she is currently finishing her Ph.D. on Logistics Management, in the Celje Faculty of Logistics.

On behalf of all Members, we would like to welcome John and Branka in their new role.  We are confident that the vast experience, knowledge, and leadership brought by John, André and Branka will further reinforce our GMF.  We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Sašo, for all the commitment and work within the PostEurop GMF, and to wish him all the best in his new projects.

Sincerely,

Botond Szebeny
PostEurop Secretary General
