Since the launch on 19 March, the Czech Post does not require payment of postage for consignments containing masks, for which the sender doesn’t require any payment from the addressee. Within 3 weeks, about 160 thousand of such consignments have already been delivered.

Until further notice, the Czech Post will continue to support volunteers who sew masks for others free of charge. “The whole society is struggling with a lack of masks. People sew them at home and offer solidarity to those who need them. Forgiveness of postage is the least how we can help now,” says the Czech Post´s CEO Roman Knap.

Other key rules applicable to consignments with masks are a transparent package, label “ROUŠKY” (“MASKS”) and posting from one of the Czech post’s offices.

As “ordinary” shipments, the masks are being delivered to the mailbox (maximum dimensions 35.3 x 25 x 2 cm), the bigger ones are delivered in person without the need to confirm the receipt.

In order to maintain the delivery quality, the Czech post accepts maximally ten consignments from a single sender per day.

Sending those consignments is possible only in the Czech Republic.
