Organisational Announcement

1 January 2023 marks the start of the new term (2023-2025) for PostEurop Board of Directors, led by Mrs. Elena Fernández-Rodríguez (Correos y Telégrafos S.A.) and Mr. Oliver Kaliski (Österreichische Post) as Chairwoman and Vice-Chairman respectively.

PostEurop’s Board of Directors holds an important role in the Association and is responsible for supervising and monitoring the implementation of the Association’s strategy.  The board generally convenes four times a year and some of its responsibilities include:

  • Supervising the budgetary performance of the Association
  • Monitoring the follow through of the Association’s Strategy
  • Decision-making power to form Committees and expert Working Groups as deemed necessary and appropriate for the Association
  • Entrusts Headquarters with tasks and oversees its management

The full competence and responsibilities of the Board of Directors are detailed in the official “Statutes of the Association of European Public Postal Operators” approved by Members at the General Assembly.

In the last years, PostEurop has answered to many challenges which have greatly impacted national postal operators from the COVID-19 pandemic to the War in Ukraine.  PostEurop’s Board of Directors has contributed significantly to the discussions and decisions in the best interest of the postal industry.  For this, we express our gratitude to all the members who have served in the previous PostEurop Board of Directors for the term 2019-2022, and especially to Mr Jean-Paul Forceville who has stepped down from the position of PostEurop Chairman after twelve dedicated years in leading the Association’s endeavours. We are grateful that Jean-Paul will remain as an instrumental member of the Board of Directors for the new term.

Looking forward in 2023, PostEurop embraces its 30th Anniversary existence as the Association representing European Postal Operators. Under the leadership of Mrs. Fernández-Rodríguez and Mr. Kaliski, we are confident that the work done to date will ensure that PostEurop continues to grow, evolve and be relevant also in the future.

Sincerely,

Botond Szebeny
PostEurop Secretary General
