She is the mother of the wet Earth and the bright Sun. Perun is depicted as a rough red-haired man, symbolized by an eagle sitting on an oak branch watching the world.

It lives on fields, pastures, on the banks of the river, near swamps and damp habitats with poor vegetation. It is kept near water, in wet meadows and fields where it feeds on small invertebrates, such as various types of insects such as, worms and snails. Nests are mostly common in agricultural fields, grasslands, pastures and wetlands. The female nests four greenish eggs with black spots in their nest. It is not considered a globally endangered species, while it is estimated that the global population is declining.
