Omniva’s growth in Latvia is worthy of an Oscar in logistics

Omniva’s growth numbers in Latvia reached the finals of the most renowned postal and logistics award World Mail Awards (WMA).

„It is a great accomplishment. Omniva is the only company in the Baltics that has managed to join up with the best and is competing for the World Mail Awards,“ commented Joona Saluveer, Member of the Board in Latvia and Omniva Latvia’s manager.

According to Saluveer, Omniva’s growth in 2014 in Latvia was impressive. The number of parcels sent via parcel machines tripled within a year. This is also the reason why the network of parcel machines in Latvia was extended. Eight new parcel machines were added as part of the extension. Omniva’s parcel machines were installed to Limbazi, Madona, Gulbene, Bauska, Dobele and Salaspils. Existing parcel machines were upgraded in Daugavpils, Jelgava, Ventspils, Riga and Ogre. In total, the number of parcel machine compartments in Latvia was increased by a third.

The growth is still ongoing in 2015. The number of parcels sent by private customers in Latvia has increased by 35% for today, even when compared with the traditional high period during the December of last year. „The jury’s decision to place us amongst the three best postal and logistics companies in the category of growth shows that our strategy has been successful,“ noted Saluveer.

In 2012, Omniva won the World Mail Awards prize in the category of retail Network for parcel machine solutions.

In summer 2014 Omniva extended the parcel machine network also in Estonia. After extending, Omniva has 189 parcel machines in Estonia, 98 of which are located in Estonia, 46 in Latvia and 45 in Lithuania.
