" Training Partnership for a Changing Post Project"

Under the PostEurop Social Responsibility Committee (SRC), the training working group, in cooperation with PostEurop, applied for the European Commission Life Long Learning programme “Leonardo da Vinci” in the year 2010, particularly “Training Partnership for a Changing Post – Project”. The Project duration is 2 years and will end in July 2012.

Project Objectives & Strategy

The concrete objectives are:

 

  • To identify and describe needs and competences for now and for the future for critical and crucial jobs in the sector
  • To share solutions, to identify training solutions, to develop employability for those crucial and critical positions, to focus on innovative and collaborative solutions.
  • To disseminate the results for future training for the crucial and critical positions in the postal sector

The programme will enable to raise awareness of the postal sector for new competences needed to accelerate the necessarily adaptation of this changing labour market and stir debates between postal sector members.

The partnership objective is to create an efficient and innovative training Expert Network to anticipate competences for now and for the future for the crucial and critical positions and jobs in the postal sector. It will help the postal sector to develop a mid and long term cooperation which will be helpful to manage changes:

 

  • To identify critical and crucial jobs in the sector and describe needs and competences for now and for the future
  • To share solutions and to develop training for those crucial and critical positions
  • To disseminate the results for future training for the crucial and critical positions in the postal sector

The actions will be to share best practices, to promote initiatives in the area of training to anticipate needs, to promote skills development in a sector in permanent evolution with an important workforce.

The Project is coordinated by La Poste, France and partners include: PostEurop (expert in Project Management), Bulgarian Posts, Hrvatska Posta, Deutsche Post, Correos y Telégrafos and Turkish PTT. The observers are Magyar Posta, CTT - Correios de Portugal and Swiss Post.

The beneficiaries of the programme will be the Training and Human Resources experts, the trainees and the top management of those postal operators.
