Operational Affairs

Building on the strong expertise of the International Post Corporation (IPC) and of European Postal Operators that have taken the lead in driving operational postal excellence, PostEurop has established a set of core activities that align their processes on existing quality of service initiatives. Using the Association as an exchange hub, PostEurop Members are encouraged to facilitate technology and competencies transfers in order to optimise the postal network for the ultimate benefit of all players.

The Operational Affairs Committee

The Operational Affairs Committee (OAC) provides PostEurop Members with the necessary tools and information to drive quality, efficiency and common standards across Member networks. The committee also strives to be the platform for exchange of best practices among Members.

Among its tasks the OAC counts:

  • Enabling all European postal operators to learn about and apply modern quality management and measurement and to improve operational systems.
  • Developing awareness on Quality of Service and on measurement issues to further develop the European postal network.
  • Gaining knowledge on latest information technologies and make it available to all PostEurop Members.
  • Exchanging views on current and future terminal dues systems and on related issues.
  • Discussing and agreeing on operational standards for Europe.

In order to support the written communications sector and to ensure its long-term viability, it is essential that the increasingly intertwined European postal networks achieve a high quality of service standards from end to end of the operational chain. For this reason, PostEurop assumes lobbying for quality development, standards and introduction of information technologies (IT) in the name of all European postal operators towards the European institutions, UPU, CERP and other relevant organisations.
