The EUROPA stamp best design competition is a yearly online event in which the result is announced during the Plenary Assembly. The first competition took place in 2002. All official EUROPA stamp issues can enter the competition. Web viewers and PostEurop members are invited to vote for their favorite stamps.

Each year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group selects the EUROPA stamp theme.  

2011 has been declared as the 'International Year of the Forests' by United Nations.

Hence, the theme of the 2011 EUROPA Stamp will be 'Forest'.

Votes will be open from 8 May till 7 August 2011. The announcement of the winning stamp will take place during the PostEurop Plenary Assembly to be held on 12 and 13 October in Turkey.

So in 2011, the theme is "Forests"

In 2012, it will be "Visit..."
