E-Commerce Green Paper Working Group

Background

Objectives
Main Activities

Monitor activities and developments including analysis of studies and reports etc.; provide a platform for members to share information and exchange views.

Contribute to the consultation on the Green Paper and promote PostEurop members’ interests vis-à-vis policy and regulatory initiatives; co-ordinate with IPC where relevant.

In January 2012 the Commission published its Communication on e-commerce with an action plan as a new contribution to the Digital Agenda and a follow up of the Single Market Act.

The Communication presents 16 new initiatives in order to boost e-commerce. One of the actions will be a consultation on postal delivery services based on a Green Paper. The Commission believes that cross-border delivery represents one of the main obstacles to the growth of cross-border e-commerce.

The objective of the E-Commerce Green Paper Working Group is to establish a constructive dialogue with relevant stakeholders, and to position PostEurop in the policy debate on postal delivery in the context of e-commerce, especially cross-border.
